Jobs For Felons and Ex-Inmates

Did you know that there are a lot of jobs for felons? You may not be aware of all the opportunities available.

Many government positions won’t hire felons. Many private sector jobs will require that a felon gets re-educated and ready to go back into society. Jobs in the state and federal government are many and there are also jobs that need to be filled for law enforcement agencies, community organizations, non-profit institutions, businesses, volunteer groups, companies, and even police departments. The list is endless.

There are many people looking for jobs, and felons are just one group of them. We all have great ideas, but if you’ve been to prison, your options are very limited. Keep in mind, though, that there are jobs for felons for those willing to learn and train. If you are willing to work hard, you will find many great opportunities in all walks of life.

Prisons are known for their camaraderie, people with similar goals, and the possibility of getting out. You may be interested in being a teacher, a social worker, or working as a counselor at a rehab facility. It does not matter what you want to do, you will have a chance to be in that position depending on your previous charges. The key is being willing to commit to becoming a better person. You can choose the path you want to go down by having the knowledge and skills to do so.

Most of the jobs for felons that are available in the private sector will require you to go to prison for some period of time. However, if you are willing to commit yourself to the commitment, there are many other great opportunities to take advantage of. Don’t worry, I’m joking here. Most of the private sector jobs don’t leave room for people who have been incarcerated. There are a few employers who will hire felons though, you just have to really search them out.

An additional great opportunity that you may want to look into is being a mentor to inmates. Most people would love to help other people and this is a great way to help people succeed in life. You can search for inmates in prison who are eligible to work or you can provide mentoring for drug abusers or other people who may need help. In any case, you will have a great opportunity to help people succeed.

There are many opportunities for those who are willing to stay committed to their goals and use their talents to get to where they want to be. Keep in mind that with the right mindset, there are many paths you can take to get to where you want to be. Keep your goals in mind and you will be well on your way to achieving them.
